OLYMPIA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – New polling shows many Washington residents aren’t thrilled with Gov. Bob Ferguson’s leadership.
The poll was conducted earlier this month by Cascade PBS and Elway.
About 31% of respondents stated that they believe the Governor has done a poor job during his first six months in office.
Only about 4% rated his efforts as “excellent,” which is the lowest percentage for a new governor in Washington since Mike Lowry in the early 90s.
When asked why, a majority of those who gave Ferguson a failing grade did so because they opposed his rising taxes.
Others cited his left-leaning ideology and stance on the state budget as reasons they don’t like his leadership.
The poll also asked Washington residents about a handful of bills passed through the state Legislature earlier this year.
While most respondents held favorable views on rent increase caps and gun safety training, others were strongly opposed to the 6-cent gas tax increase.
