BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A contract has been awarded for a pedestrian upgrade project in Fairhaven.
The Bellingham City Council approved a $1.3 million contract with Bellingham-based Strider Construction, which will begin work early next year.
As part of the project, a new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of 12th Street and Mill Avenue. Flashing crosswalks will also be added to 12th Street near McKenzie Avenue and Finnegan Way near 11th Street.
A new southbound sidewalk will be added to Finnegan Way from the intersection at 11th Street down towards Mill Avenue.
The project is estimated to be complete by the summer of 2025.
