ANACORTES, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A new schedule taking effect on the Anacortes to San Juan Island ferry will stay in place through spring.
The ferry’s new fall schedule begins this Sunday, Sept. 21, and lasts through June 13, 2026.
Washington State Ferries (WSF) says it’s the first time in 20 years that the fall ferry schedule will remain the same for the winter and spring.
“After a robust public engagement process and seeing our updated spring schedule work over a full sailing season, we feel confident that this schedule will work well from mid-September until early June,” said WSF Planning Manager Jason Rogers. “We’ll continue to monitor the schedule’s performance and see how we can maximize this critical service for ferry riders.”
The announcement comes after the state Legislature set aside funds earlier this year to increase service to the San Juans through the winter season.
The route will now have 144 trips per week, which is up from 130 last winter.
