BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Be prepared for some nighttime delays if you’re taking I-5 into Bellingham this week.

WSDOT says the Alger/Lake Samish Road on-ramp to northbound I-5 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting on Monday, Sept. 14, and lasting through Wednesday morning, Sept. 16.

During the closure, drivers will follow a signed detour to the Nulle Road on-ramp to northbound I-5.

Both directions of I-5 will also be reduced to a single lane during those same hours starting Tuesday night, Sept. 15, and lasting through Thursday morning, Sept. 17.

The closures are in place so crews can continue restoring natural habitat along a tributary to Friday Creek. It comes as part of WSDOT’s project to correct 17 barriers to fish migration near Lake Samish.
