The Nooksack River in Ferndale is currently forecast to reach action stage starting around 10 p.m. on Wednesday night and lasting until 4 a.m. on Thursday morning. The threshold for action stage is 15′ which is still 3′ below the conditions for minor flooding.

Amy Cloud with the Whatcom County Division of Emergency Management says the county is monitoring the river, but nothing is of major concern yet for this week.

The Skagit River in Mount Vernon, meanwhile, is forecast to jump well above action stage, though no flooding is currently in the forecast.
