Mariners News

The Mariners’ magical season has come to an end. The M’s fell to the Blue Jays 4-3 last night in Toronto in their decisive Game 7 of the ALCS.

Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez each hit solo homers, but their old foe from Houston George Springer hit a go-ahead 3-run homer in the seventh inning to win it for the Jays. Toronto now moves on to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, starting on Friday.

It finishes a historic season for the Mariners, where they made their farthest playoff push in franchise history, coming the closest they’ve ever been to their first-ever World Series appearance.

They now enter a crucial offseason with trade deadline additions Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez entering free agency

Meanwhile, one of the Mariners’ division rivals is under new leadership.

The Los Angeles Angels announced today that they’ve hired Kurt Suzuki as their new manager. Suzuki spent 16 years as a catcher in the majors and spent his last two seasons in LA before retiring in 2023.

Former Angels stars Albert Pujols and Torii Hunter were also in consideration for the job to replace Ron Washington, who missed nearly half the 2025 season after undergoing quadruple bypass surgery.

Suzuki will now be tasked with turning around an Angels squad that finished last in the AL West and sixth-worst in the majors.

Seahawks News

The Seahawks got a big win on Monday Night Football. They beat the Houston Texans 26-19 last night to pull into a three-way tie for first place in the NFC West.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught eight passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. He now leads the league with 819 receiving yards on the season.

Despite having four turnovers, the Seahawks withstood a late rally by the Texans to improve to 5-2 on the year.

They have a bye week coming up before traveling to the nation’s capital for a Sunday night primetime match against the Commanders on Nov. 2.

Kraken News

The Kraken are looking to rebound tonight in the second leg of their back-to-back.

Seattle fell to the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 last night in their first regulation loss of the season. Jordan Eberle and Jani Nyman each scored and 19-year-old Berkley Catton had an assist in the top prospect’s first game with the team.

The Kraken are now in Washington DC for a match against the Capitals in the fourth match of their six-game East Coast road trip.

Puck drops at 4:00 on KPUG.

NBA News

The NBA season is officially underway.

The Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder just tipped off the opening game of the season in OKC. The defending champion Thunder are looking to become the first back-to-back champs in nearly a decade.

Tonight’s game is a homecoming for former SuperSonics standout and Thunder MVP Kevin Durant, who’s playing his first game as a Rocket.

After that, the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Golden State Warriors.

It’ll be the first season opener Luka Doncic has played in a Lakers uniform since getting dealt from Dallas in a shocking midseason trade earlier this year. Los Angeles will be without LeBron James, who is expected to be out until mid-November.

The Lakers and Warriors tip off at 7:00 from LA.
