Seahawks News

The Seahawks are on the road this weekend for a reunion with their long-time star receiver. Seattle’s in Pittsburgh on Sunday morning to play DK Metcalf and the Steelers.

The Seahawks are coming off a tight four-point loss to the San Francisco 49ers in their season opener. Their defense played well, but it could be down a few players in the secondary for Week 2.

ESPN reports that starters Devon Witherspoon and Julian Love both sat out of practice yesterday and Witherspoon is doubtful to play on Sunday. Rookie safety Nick Emmanwori was also hurt in the 49ers game and could be headed to the injured reserve.

The good news is that edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu is on track to make his season debut after getting knee surgery in the offseason.

The Seahawks will need all the help they can get against a Steelers offense led by Metcalf and Aaron Rodgers. Coverage begins at 8 am on Sunday and kickoff is at 10:00 on KPUG.

Huskies/Cougs News

The Cougs are back in action tomorrow afternoon, while the Huskies have the week off.

Wazzu is on the road against North Texas as they look to improve to 3-0 under new coach Jimmy Rogers.

The Cougs are coming off a win over San Diego State where sophomore quarterback Jaxon Potter broke out with three touchdown passes. They’ll look to carry that momentum into tomorrow’s game against North Texas, who also owns a 2-0 record.

Kickoff is at 12:30 tomorrow afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Huskies are gearing up for the Apple Cup in Pullman next Saturday.

Mariners News

The streaking Mariners are back on top of the AL West.

Rookie Harry Ford began his major league career with a walk off sacrifice fly in the 12th inning last night to help the M’s beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-6. Julio Rodriguez, Randy Arozarena, Jorge Polanco and JP Crawford all had multi-hit games and the Mariners’ bullpen was lights out to help secure the series opener.

It was Seattle’s sixth-straight win and they’re now tied with Houston for first place in the division. The Mariners will have a chance to take sole possession of first today with a win against the Angels and an Astros loss.

Coverage begins at 6:00 and first pitch is at 7:10 on KGMI with Luis Castillo taking the mound.
