Seahawks News

The Seahawks are gearing up for their biggest game in years this weekend.

They’re hosting the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Sunday with a ticket to the Super Bowl on the line.

It will serve as a rubber match after the two teams split their regular season series. The most recent game was an all-time classic, where the Seahawks came back from down two scores in the 4th quarter to win in overtime.

MVP frontrunner Matthew Stafford and the Rams will look to spoil a Hawks’ Super Bowl trip in the franchise’s 50th season. But before that, the Patriots and Broncos are facing off in the AFC Championship.

MVP finalist Drake Maye will look to lead the Pats against a shorthanded Broncos team that has Jared Stidham filling in for starter Bo Nix after he broke his ankle last weekend.

Coverage for the AFC Championship begins at 11 am and kickoff is at noon on KPUG. After that, the Seahawks kick off at 3:30.

Kraken News

The Kraken are back tomorrow as they look to salvage what’s been a rough homestand so far.

They’re playing the Anaheim Ducks in the fourth leg of their five-game stand at Climate Pledge.

The Kraken dropped the first two, but snapped a four-game skid with Wednesday’s win over the Islanders. They’ll now be tasked with slowing down a Ducks squad that’s riding a five-game win streak.

The two teams are neck-and-neck in the Western Conference standings, with the Ducks holding a slim, two-point lead over the Kraken for seventh place.

Coverage begins at 11:30 tomorrow morning and puck drops at noon on KGMI.

A former Canadian Olympic snowboarder and FBI fugitive was arrested in Mexico today.

Ryan Wedding was flown to the U.S. to face charges relating to a multinational drug trafficking ring and the killing of a federal witness. FBI Director Kash Patel said his capture resulted from a manhunt by U.S. investigators who worked with authorities in Mexico, Canada, Colombia and the Dominican Republic for more than a year.

Prosecutors said they believed Wedding was working under the protection of the Sinaloa Cartel, one of Mexico’s most powerful drug rings. Officials say he orchestrated several killings and used semitrucks to move cocaine between Colombia, Mexico, Southern California and Canada.

Wedding was on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, and authorities had offered a $15 million reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
