The US is currently up to No. 3 in the world with 12 total medals, just one behind Italy and Norway, who are tied for first place.
Jordan Stolz helped the effort earlier today by breaking an Olympics record in the men’s 1,000 meter speed-skating event.
The 21-year-old didn’t reach his own world record that he set in January 2024, but it was enough to earn the US its 4th gold of the games.
The US men’s ice hockey team is gearing up for its first match of the Olympics, taking place at 12:10 tomorrow afternoon against Latvia.
NBA News
A former Huskies basketball star just received a big punishment from the NBA.
The league announced today that it’s suspending Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart seven games for his role in a massive brawl that took place between Detroit and Charlotte on Monday.
Three other players involved in the fight didn’t get more than four games apiece. The league says Stewart’s lengthy suspension was based on him leaving the bench area to join the fight on the court and his “repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.”
Stewart made an All-Pac 12 First Team as a freshman with the Huskies before being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft. He’s now the defensive anchor of a Pistons team that owns the best record in the Eastern Conference.
