BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Northwest Tune-Up festival has announced its lineup for this summer along with a few new twists.

The festival, located on the Bellingham waterfront, opens on Friday, July 12, with the bluegrass group “Yonder Mountain String Band” headlining the first day of performances. Rapper Lupe Fiasco is the centerpiece of Saturday’s shows and electronica artist RJD2 is the final headliner to cap off the weekend on Sunday, July 14.

Festival goers will also get to enjoy those sets for a bit longer this year, since headlining acts are being extended to 90 minutes.

Other artists set for the weekend include Indigo De Souza, Saxsquatch and Bellingham-based Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac tribute band Petty or Not.

Another major change to the festival is the addition of free music from local bands.

“Tunetown” will feature two open-access stages at Exhibitor Village with afternoon acts from Bellingham that are still to be announced.
