LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Northwest Washington Fair is kicking off in Lynden on Thursday.

The fair will feature farm animals, concerts, carnival rides and much more through Saturday, Aug. 16.

It’s also rolling out a new value menu that offers select meals and food items that cost $10 or less.

This year’s featured events include the Demolition Derby on Aug. 7 and 8, the Country Shuffle this Saturday, the rodeo next Monday and Tuesday, and rock and roll legends ZZ Top on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Fair gates open at 11 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.

General admission is $15, but there are plenty of ways to get in for free.

The fair is offering free admission to school employees on Thursday or if you donate four food items on Food Drive Friday in addition to many other promotions. WTA is also providing free rides on all bus trips within Whatcom County for the duration of the fair.
