BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Festivals abound this weekend in Whatcom County. If you want to celebrate the fall season, Celtic music, German heritage or all of the above, we have you covered in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.
The good folks at the Deming Logging Show are hosting the 41st annual Deming Oktoberfest this Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10. The event features live music, dancing, Swiss alpine horns, a stein holding contests, food and beer.
The Polkatones will perform on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Pickled Herring Band will take the stage Saturday afternoon. Attendees get a free beer stein with admission.
Oktoberfest in Deming runs from 4 p.m. to midnight on Friday and from noon to midnight on Saturday. It is a 21+ event. Tickets are $15 per day.
Fans of Celtic language, culture and music are in luck. The Bellingham Celtic Festival runs all weekend long with live music, workshops and language classes at venues across downtown Bellingham.
Attendees can sing along, watch talented Celtic musicians perform, dance, learn about music and culture from experts and enrich themselves in various other ways. Language workshops include Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic and Welsh.
Up in Ferndale, the spirit of the season will be on full display at Pioneer Pavilion (2007 Cherry St.) on Saturday. Ferndale Community Services is hosting Harvest Festival 2026.
Learn about Día de los Muertos, Lummi cedar weaving and more. Family-friendly activities and performances will keep attendees entertained. Face painting, dancing, pumpkin painting and zucchini racing are also all on the docket. There will also be a costume exchange and free food available.
Harvest Festival is a free event. It runs from noon to 5 p.m.

Bumpin Uglies will perform at Wild Buffalo on Saturday night. The Annapolis, Maryland band blends reggae, ska, punk and folk. Fans of Sublime, Bob Marley and No Doubt don’t want to miss this one.

On Saturday night, the Shakedown will welcome The Inspector Cluzo to the stage for a night of bluesy garage rock. The French duo is known for their Southern-influenced grooves and high-energy performance.
