OLYMPIA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A campaign finance complaint against Let’s Go Washington has been dismissed.

The complaint, filed in May by Washingtonians for Ethical Government, alleged the organization failed to properly report expenditures connected to political commentator and initiative supporter Brandi Kruse.

After an investigation, PDC staff found no evidence that Let’s Go Washington paid for Kruse’s services or that her appearances and promotion of the group’s initiatives qualified as reportable in-kind contributions.

Investigators noted that while Kruse is paid for some speaking engagements, the evidence did not show she typically charges for the types of appearances and political advocacy at issue in this case.

The commission dismissed the complaint, saying formal enforcement action was not warranted.

However, staff called it a close case and reminded Let’s Go Washington to properly report any professional services donated or provided on its behalf.
