LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Police have arrested a Bellingham teen accused of fleeing in a stolen car earlier this week.
Mount Vernon Police say they found the 17-year-old suspect in Lynden on Thursday night and took him into custody.
It comes after an officer pulled a driver over in Mount Vernon early Tuesday morning because he didn’t have a license plate.
Police say the juvenile proceeded to give them a fake name before backing into a patrol car and driving off.
Bellingham Police later confirmed that the car was stolen and Mount Vernon Police issued a warrant for the teen’s arrest. He was booked into Skagit County Juvenile Detention, and the stolen car was found in Mount Vernon.
