WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Most roadwork is on hold for the Labor Day holiday, but construction season isn’t over just yet.

WSDOT says that ongoing fish passage work will bring I-5 northbound down to one lane near the North Lake Samish exit starting Tuesday night, Sept. 8. The lane reduction will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday morning.

Crews will also close the off-ramp to Alger and Lake Samish Road during those same times.

On Thursday, drivers will encounter an alternating traffic pattern on Chuckanut Drive near the Whatcom/Skagit County line. A planned bridge inspection will take place from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

And in Skagit County, a lane reduction on Highway 9 near Kalloch Road has been extended through Sept. 24.
