BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Reminder that ballots are due Tuesday for Washington’s presidential primary election.
Voters will need to select a party affiliation for this election, but the choice will not affect future elections.
President Joe Biden, Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson are on the ballot for the Democratic Party. Phillips dropped out of the race last week, but Williamson has returned after unsuspending her campaign last month. An additional option for “Uncommitted Delegates” that has gained steam in other states is also on the ballot for the Democratic Party.
Former President Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie and Vivek Ramaswamy are the choices for the Republican Party, though all but Trump have dropped their campaigns.
Just over 27% of Whatcom County voters have returned their ballot as of Friday night, according to the Secretary of State Elections Division. Ballots must be returned to an official ballot drop box by 8:00 p.m. or postmarked by March 12. Results will be certified by March 26.
