EVERSON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The county wants to hear your input on whether an intersection in Everson should become an all-way stop.

Whatcom County Public Works proposed an ordinance creating an all-way stop at the South Pass and Goodwin Road intersection. The county council will hold a public hearing on the change on Jan. 14, 2025.

Last week, crews installed two LED flashing stop signs at the intersection, making it into a four way stop.

This all comes after a speeding vehicle hit and killed an 11-year-old girl in another car on Halloween night. The man facing charges for the crash has a jury trial set for early next year.

Information regarding how to participate in the public hearing can be found at the Whatcom County website.
