BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – High school students in our area are getting an opportunity once again to showcase their art in Washington D.C.

Rep. Rick Larsen announced the annual Congressional Art Competition has started accepting applications.

High school-age students in Washington’s Second Congressional District can send the work they want to submit to Rep. Larsen’s office in Everett or drop it off in person at the Bellingham office.

The work must be no larger than 26″ in length on both sides, no thicker than 4 inches and primarily two dimensional.

A winner from the district will be chosen and their work will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. Winners will be invited to an awards ceremony in Washington D.C.

Last year, Ferndale High School student Riley Tomtan won the accolade with her piece titled “Reflection.”
