BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Preliminary results of Washington’s Presidential Primary are in.

Whatcom County saw a nearly 34% voter turnout for this election, with about 1900 votes left to count according to the Auditor’s Office.

Over 82% of Democratic voters chose current President Joe Biden as their preferred candidate. Notably, just under 10% of voters picked the “uncommitted candidate” option on the Democrat party side.

For Republican voters, former President Donald Trump received 75% of the vote. Nearly 20% of Republican voters marked Nikki Haley as their preferred candidate.

Another ballot count update will be released at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
