WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Wet weather is causing some road closures around the region.

The City of Ferndale says its Public Works crews have closed Smith Road between LaBounty Drive and Hovander Road due to water over the roadway.

Drivers heading east are able to turn around at Scout Place.

Further east, Highway 20 is closed at Diablo Lake (MP 130) after rocks fell across the road.

WSDOT says that cleanup will take an extensive amount of time, and there’s no estimated reopening date just yet.

The rocks fell about four miles away from the seasonal closure gate at the Ross Dam trailhead.
