WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two local shelters are opening up as overnight temperatures begin to drop.

Whatcom County’s overnight severe weather shelter in Bellingham is reopening starting on Wednesday, Jan. 21 and lasting through Saturday, Jan. 24. Check-in is from 4 to 8 p.m. and checkout is at 8 a.m. the following morning.

Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis for the shelter at 925 N. Forest Street.

Ferndale’s severe weather shelter is also open nightly through Saturday.

And Lighthouse Mission Ministries remains open daily from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m.
