Severe weather shelters open in Ferndale, Bellingham as overnight lows fall to mid-20’s

Overnight shelters in Bellingham and Ferndale will be open through Saturday night.

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two local shelters are opening up as overnight temperatures begin to drop.

Whatcom County’s overnight severe weather shelter in Bellingham is reopening starting on Wednesday, Jan. 21 and lasting through Saturday, Jan. 24. Check-in is from 4 to 8 p.m. and checkout is at 8 a.m. the following morning.

Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis for the shelter at 925 N. Forest Street.

Ferndale’s severe weather shelter is also open nightly through Saturday.

And Lighthouse Mission Ministries remains open daily from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Overnight lows are forecast to drop to the mid 20’s in Bellingham starting on Wednesday night through Saturday night. Head to our weather page here for updated forecasts.
