WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Half a dozen people were recently arrested after attempting to use I-5 as their personal racetrack.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding said that all of the arrests occurred during the first week of June in three separate incidents.

Two suspects arrested Saturday, June 6 near Custer will face racing charges after witnesses reported them speeding and making poor lane changes. Whatcom County Jail booking records indicate the other four arrested on the previous two incidents from June 3 and June 4 all face reckless driving charges.

All suspects are under the age of 25 and have bonded out of jail following their arrests.

Trooper Harding added that all vehicles involved have been impounded.
