SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A longtime Skagit County Superior Court judge is putting down the gavel for good.
Judge Thomas Verge will be retiring at the end of this month to cap off over 30 years in the legal field. He was elected to the Superior Court bench in 2020 after serving as a District Court Judge since 2016.
In Whatcom County, Judge Verge got his bachelor’s degree at WWU and served as a deputy prosecuting attorney and as the Superior Court Commissioner.
Gov. Bob Ferguson appointed Skagit County Superior Court Commissioner Mary Crandall to take his spot at the start of the new year.
A retirement party celebrating Judge Verge’s career will be held on Dec. 19 at the Skagit County Courthouse.
