BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Ski to Sea this year is almost certainly going to actually be a “ski-to-sea” race.

Event organizers said in an email that the Mount Baker Ski Area gave them a 95% “thumbs up” for skiing, which – in their words – is pretty darn close to 100%.

They did say there will be some wiggle room to change the plans if we get any 80-degree weather before the race.

Organizers thanked the Ski Area for saving them some snow and for their creative cross-country route.

A 100% answer will be decided on May 13 following the Junior Ski to Sea race.

They added that planning travel to the Ski Area should not rely on GPS as there will be traffic, advising people to leave Bellingham by 5 a.m. on race day.
