BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Ski to Sea is nearly sold out for participation entries in the 2024 race as organizers keep an eye on snow levels at Mount Baker.
Scheduled for Sunday, May 26, the 7-leg multi-sport relay race opens registration on Jan. 1 and offered a discounted registration fee until the end of February.
Ski to Sea says they are selling out on those entries, clocking over 80% of their allotted 500 teams. To be exact, that is 416 teams already registered.
Registration currently costs $714 per standard or corporate team and people can register for the race up until May 24 or the cap is reached. High school teams can register for free.
The race’s organizers created a “low snow” contingency plan after forecasters and the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service warned about a very low snowpack this winter. The modified race plan won’t be decided upon until the first week of April, but – if the weather holds – the ski portions will likely be replaced by an alpine run and a coastal mountain bike ride.
