WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A scholarship for students seeking careers in law enforcement is now accepting applications.

Support Officers of Whatcom County is offering a $2,000, one-time scholarship for a graduating high school senior.

Eligible students must be pursuing careers in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a similar field. Applications are being accepted until April 15.

The scholarship is named after Whatcom County Sheriff Deputy Matt Herzog, who was killed in the line of duty in 2001.
