WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Whatcom County Planning Commission seeks public input regarding an updated comprehensive plan.

The 2025 Comprehensive Plan is a 20-year vision that establishes goals and policies taking place in the county. It is a framework and guide meant to accomplish community goals.

The plan includes land use, zoning regulations, subdivisions, hazard regulations, annexations and development review. It also impacts public facilities and services as well as environmental protection policies.

To get the community involved, the planning commission is launching a survey on Dec. 17, 2024, through Jan. 28, 2025.

“Your voice matters! Help shape the future of our community by sharing your input,” Whatcom County Planning and Development Services said in an email.

Whatcom County is responsible for updating plan and development regulations through the Growth Management Act, which means actively seeking public comment.
