MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting in Mount Vernon last week.
According to jail booking records, Mount Vernon Police arrested a 26-year-old man on Freeway Drive Tuesday, June 16.
Police believe the suspect was involved the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Arturo Ortiz Lopez on S 2nd Street Thursday, June 11. The suspect’s arrest carried the same case number as the shooting in the department’s news release.
The suspect is facing three felonies, including first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon and drive-by shooting.
He remains at the Skagit County Jail on $1 million bail ahead of his arraignment scheduled for Thursday, June 25.
