BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – One of Bellingham’s longtime summer traditions is returning to fill the streets with music.
The Downtown Bellingham Partnership has announced that Downtown Sounds is returning for its 21st season this summer with bands from around the country.
Starting on July 9, five blocks of Bay, Holly and Prospect streets will be blocked off every Wednesday evening for roughly a month.
New York City-based reggae group Meta and the Cornerstones kicks off the festivities as the first of several national headliners.
Downtown Sounds continues through Aug. 6 with main acts that include a Seattle-based Queen tribute band and hometown openers like Veronica North and County Rose.
Beyond the music, attendees can enjoy local food trucks, family-friendly activities and a newly expanded beer garden.
