Kalen DeBoer says star running back Dillon Johnson is expected to play after being carted off the field following UW’s Sugar Bowl win over Texas.

He rushed for 49 yards and two scores in the game, bringing his total to 16 TD’s on the season.

Johnson left the game after re-aggravating a lower leg injury that has been hampering him for the last few months.

Seattle’s alternative pro football team is no more.

The Sea Dragons were left out of the XFL’s merger with the USFL on Sunday.

The new organization, called the United Football League, will be made up of five XFL teams and three USFL teams.

The Sea Dragons were among the three XFL teams that didn’t make the cut, along with the Orlando Guardians and Vegas Vipers.

Seattle made the four-team playoff last year in the XFL’s final season but got bounced in the first round.

They were originally introduced as the Dragons in 2018 before their rebrand as the Sea Dragons last season.
