The Washington Huskies’ football team has found a new head coach just days after Kalen DeBoer left for Alabama.

Washington hired Arizona’s Jedd Fisch on Sunday for a deal that will reportedly pay an average of $7.75 million annually over seven years.

Fisch went 10-3 for the 11th-ranked Wildcats last season and finished third in the Pac-12 standings in his first head coaching opportunity.

He was previously a quarterbacks coach for the Seattle Seahawks in 2010.

He joins Washington as their fourth head coach since the 2019 season.

The Seattle Kraken’s win streak has finally come to an end.

They lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0 yesterday thanks to a pair of goals by Sidney Crosby.

Crosby moved to one score behind 21st on the all-time goals list as he continues his 19th season in the league.

The loss ended the Kraken’s 9-game win streak and 13-game points streak.

The Kraken will look to finish their trip out east strong tonight as they face the New York Rangers in the fifth of their six-game road trip.

Former Washington State star quarterback Cam Ward is on the move again.

He announced that he’s transferring to Miami on Saturday just weeks after declaring for the NFL Draft.

Ward finished fourth among all FBS quarterbacks in passing yards per game for the 5-7 Cougars last season.

He joins a Miami team that went 7-6 and is known to heavily utilize the “air raid” offense.

The Western Washington University men’s basketball team continued its in-conference woes over the weekend.

They lost to Seattle Pacific 89-74 on Saturday for their third straight loss.

The Vikings held a 2-point lead at halftime, but were outscored by 17-points in the second half.

They now fall to 10-6 on the season and 2-3 in GNAC play.

Meanwhile, the women’s team kept up their hot streak as of late.

They defeated Northwest Nazarene 88-60 Saturday to stay undefeated in all eight home games this season.

Junior guard Riley Dykstra, a former star at Lynden Christian, led the team with 23 points on 10-13 shooting.

She was just named GNAC Player of the Week.

The Vikings move to 12-3 and 4-1 in conference play with the win.

They’ve won their last three games and five of their last six.
