The Kraken fell to the New York Rangers 5-2 last night on KPUG.

Seattle hasn’t allowed that many goals since November 24th.

It’s their second straight loss after going on their biggest win streak of the season, ending at nine games.

Jordan Eberle and Jared McCann each scored a goal and an assist in the loss.

The Kraken now head to Edmonton where they will conclude their six-game road trip against the 24-15-1 Oilers tomorrow.

 

Several names have been dropped in the Seahawks’ search for a new head coach.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Seahawks have requested to interview Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith, Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham and Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter added Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris and Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka are also both in the mix.

NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport also said the team plans to talk to Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.

The Seahawks began interviews today, according to general manager John Schneider.

 

Western Washington University opened their indoor track season with a bang on Saturday.

Junior runner Kevin McDermott clocked the second-fastest 3000 m time in school history on his way to garnering GNAC Track Athlete of the Week honors.

He earned an early-season NCAA II provisional qualifying mark and is currently ranked No. 7 in the nation.

Squalicum girls followed with a 42-23 win over Sedro-Wooley.

Anacortes boys trampled Sehome 100-45.

Sehome girls topped Anacortes 61-52.

Nooksack Valley girls beat Meridian 69-34.

And the Nooksack Valley boys topped Meridian 67-55.
