A Mariners legend is headed to Cooperstown.
Ichiro Suzuki was inducted as a member of the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame today.
He was part of a three-player class that included CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner.
Fans were still outraged when it was announced that Suzuki came up one vote short of being the second-ever unanimous decision into the Hall of Fame.
Another Mariners icon, Felix Hernandez, didn’t make the cut, but received well over the 5% minimum that will put him on the ballot again next year.

OSU beat Notre Dame 34-23 last night to secure its first national title since 2014.
The Fighting Irish scored first, but the Buckeyes responded with 31 unanswered points to grow a big lead.
Notre Dame scored a pair of late touchdowns to come within 8 points, but Ohio State iced the game with a field goal in the final minute to hold off the comeback.
It was a big game for Geno Smith’s cousin and star Buckeyes receiver Jeremiah Smith, who racked up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown in the win.
Rumors are heating up that Pete Carroll could be making his return to the NFL.
The Athletic reports that the former Seahawks coach is the “top option” for the Las Vegas Raiders in their search for a new head coach.
It came after Ben Johnson landed a job with the Chicago Bears, a position that Carroll had also interviewed for.
The 73-year-old Carroll spent 14 years in Seattle before the team parted ways with him following the 2023 season.

They recorded the best season in program history last year, finishing 52-12 and reaching the World Series National Championship where they fell to UT Tyler, the top team in the preseason rankings.
The club is returning 17 members of its 22-player roster from last season, including nearly its entire pitching staff that dominated in the playoffs.
Their season opens on Jan.31 for the start of five games at the CUI Kickoff Classic in Irvine, CA.
