It was a rough birthday for a former Pro Bowl Seahawks safety.

Jamal Adams was released by the Tennessee Titans today after playing just 20 snaps with the team.

The team says the move was requested by Adams, who told ESPN he wasn’t frustrated with not starting, but wanted more of an opportunity to contribute.

Adams was released by the Seahawks earlier this year before joining the Titans in July.

The newly 29-year-old defensive back says he’s healthy and ready to help out the next team he joins.

The MLB Playoffs continue today with a pair of key games.

A Meridian High School legend was honored in a big way last week.

The Trojans renamed their north gym to Diane Axelson Court on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Axelson coached Meridian’s volleyball team for 13 seasons and led the Trojans to a state title in 2004.

That helped her earn a spot in the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame

Her granddaughter will continue her legacy by playing on the newly named court this year.

And it’s another big day for Western Washington University athletics.

The women’s soccer team is hosting MSU Billings at Harrington Field at 7:00 tonight.

The Lady Viks are hoping to extend their six-game unbeaten streak in GNAC conference play.

Meanwhile, Western’s volleyball team is on the road against Northwest Nazarene.

They’ve had a real turnaround this season, after rebounding from a six-match losing streak to win five of their last six contests.
