The Seahawks could be without two key offensive threats this Sunday.

Running back Kenneth Walker and DK Metcalf were both non-participants in practice yesterday, in addition to standout defensive lineman Leonard Williams.

Metcalf left their last game in Atlanta with what’s reported to be a Grade 1 MCL sprain, while Walker played through an illness that has sidelined him from practice.

Coach Mike Macdonald says both are questionable for Sunday’s game against Buffalo, but we’ll know more after tomorrow’s injury update from the team.

On the positive side, offensive linemen Abraham Lucas and George Fant were limited participants, which means they could see the field after both have missed nearly the entire season so far.

Cornerback Riq Woolen was also limited after missing the past two games with an ankle injury.

 

Washington State and Oregon State have announced that they’ll play each other twice next year in college football.

With the schools operating as quasi-independents again next season before the Pac-12 expands in 2026, the unusual decision made it easier for both schools to fill their schedules.

Oregon State will host the first game on Nov. 1, with Washington State hosting the second, the regular-season finale on Nov. 29.

 

Sehome High School dominated the Northwest Conference Cross Country Championships yesterday.

The Mariners led the 16 schools from across Whatcom and Skagit counties in all four events at Civic Stadium.

Sehome sophomore Lil Desler won the women’s varsity race with a 18 minute, 7 second 5k time.

Meanwhile, Anacortes junior Dylan Rowell paced the varsity men’s race with a 15 minute, 12 second time.

Next up, the District Championships are set for Saturday, Nov. 2, at Lakewood.

 

Week 8 of the high school football season is starting early tonight.

The Bellingham Bayhawks are hosting Marysville-Pilchuck in their penultimate game of the regular season.

The 1-6 Bayhawks have struggled so far, but have found a spark on offense after switching junior Joe Harward from quarterback to receiver and slotting in sophomore Ben Leonard at quarterback.

They’ll look to get their second win of the season against a Tomahawks school that is also 1-6 in its first season after moving down from 3A to 2A competition 

Kickoff is at 7:00 tonight from Civic Stadium.

 

And it’s a big night for Western Washington University soccer in Bellingham.

The women’s team is currently battling it out against Northwest Nazarene at Harrington Field.

They’re looking to get their fifth straight win and extend their unbeaten streak to eight straight matches.

After that, the men will have a chance to pick up their third straight win in a home match against rival Seattle Pacific at 7:00.

The Viking’s volleyball team is also in action tonight.

They’re on the road against Simon Fraser as they look to even up their 7-8 record.
