The Seahawks are hosting the Los Angeles Rams this weekend in a key divisional showdown.

Seattle will try to regroup their run game and run defense after both struggled in a 3-touchdown loss to Buffalo last week.

They’re now in a 3-way tie for first place in the NFC West with Arizona and San Francisco all holding a 4-4 record.

DK Metcalf has been ruled out for the second straight game with an MCL sprain.

The Rams, meanwhile, sit half a game behind at 3-4 on the season.

They’re coming off back-to-back wins over the Raiders and Vikings.

The Rams could be without standout receiver Puka Nacua, who didn’t practice today after injuring his right knee.

But coach Sean McVay says he “wouldn’t’ bet against” him playing in Seattle.

Coverage for Sunday’s game begins at 11 am and kickoff is at 1:25 on KPUG.

Speaking of the Seahawks, they have a couple of former coaches who could be headed to Canton.

Mike Holmgren and Chuck Knox are among the semifinalists in the coaching category for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

Holmgren, who coached the Seahawks from 1999-2008 and led them to their first NFC championship, is one of four Super Bowl-winning coaches included on the list.

Knox, meanwhile, led Seattle from 1983-91 and won Coach of the Year Awards with the Seahawks, Rams and Bills.

Hall of Fame voters will choose one of the nine semifinalists for possible enshrinement on Nov. 19.

The Huskies are hosting the USC Trojans tomorrow in the first Big Ten meeting between the two former Pac-12 foes.

Both teams have struggled in their new conference, with 4-4 records on the season.

But the Huskies are riding an 18-game home winning streak, the second-longest streak in the nation.

UW has to win at least two of its last four games to be bowl eligible and tomorrow’s game will be crucial with heavy hitters No. 3 ranked Penn State and No.1 Oregon coming up on the schedule.

Coverage begins at 2:30 pm and kickoff is at 4:30 on KPUG.

The 22nd-ranked Cougs have a bye week ahead of next weekend’s home matchup against Utah State.

Second base is once again open in Seattle after the team declined the 2025 club option for Jorge Polanco today.

The M’s acquired him in a trade with Minnesota last offseason, but the former All-Star turned in one of the least productive seasons of his big-league career.

Polanco hit .213 with 15 home runs and 45 RBIs in 118 games, and it was revealed after the season that he received surgery in early October after playing through a knee injury.

The 31-year-old was set to make $12 million next year.

The decision to part ways with Polanco means the Mariners will have a new opening day second baseman for the seventh straight season.

The club also announced that third baseman Luis Urias has cleared waivers and elected free agency.

The Kraken are back this weekend after a scary Halloween loss last night.

Seattle went scoreless in the first two periods and fell to the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1.

Eeli Tolvanen scored the Kraken’s lone goal in the third period, but it came too late as they dropped the fourth of their last five games.

They’ll look to rebound against Ottawa tomorrow in the third of their five game road trip.

Coverage begins at 3:30 and puck drops at 4:00 on KGMI, where all of this weekend’s Kraken games will be aired.

The Sounders are looking to book their ticket to the next round of the MLS playoffs.

They’re in Houston on Sunday for Game 2 of their best-of-three series against the Dynamo.

The Sounders are coming off a thrilling shootout win at Lumen Field.

If they beat the Dynamo, they’d advance to the final eight teams in the conference semifinals.

Sunday’s game starts at 3:30.

And it’s the ninth and final regular season week of the high school football season.

Blaine edged Meridian 27-22 last night on KGMI to force a three-team tie for the final playoff spot in the 1A Northwest Conference.

Blaine, Meridian and Mount Baker will now face off in a Kansas tiebreaker at 6 pm on Monday at Blaine High School.

The winner will join Nooksack Valley and Lynden Christian in the new 24-team play-in bracket.

Elsewhere in the county last night, Mount Baker fell to Omak 27-20 and Sehome lost to Archbishop Murphy 56-14.

We’ve got a great game on the radio for you tonight.

Lynden Christian is hosting Nooksack Valley with the 1A Northwest Conference title on the line.

KPUG’s Allan Fee is live from Lynden Christian from 3-7 pm for The Zone’s Friday Night Lights pregame show, taking you right up until kickoff.

Jim Bring and Dan Kaemingk will be on the call for that game on KPUG.

Elsewhere, Ferndale is on the road for a likely must-win game against Shorewood tonight if the Golden Eagles want to make the postseason.

Squalicum is hosting Bellingham for a cross-town rivalry match.

And Lynden is on the road against Burlington-Edison to finish out their regular season.
