The Seahawks are looking to extend their winning streak this weekend in a primetime battle with the Green Bay Packers.
Seattle has won fourth straight games coming off their bye week to return to first place in the NFC West.
The Packers, meanwhile, enter the game having won seven of their last nine.
Both teams are in the thick of the NFC playoff race and Sunday’s matchup could be a playoff preview.
If the season ended today, the two teams would play in the first round, with the Seahawks owning the third seed and the Packers having the sixth.
Seahawks’ starting running back Kenneth Walker is listed as questionable for the matchup after missing practice for the past two days.
But backup Zach Charbonnet stepped up in his absence last week, rushing for a career high 134 yards.
Coverage for Sunday Night Football begins at 3 p.m. and kickoff is at 5:15 on KPUG.
Meanwhile, yesterday’s Thursday Night Football matchup had a major impact on the race for the NFC West.
The Los Angeles Rams edged the San Francisco 49ers 12-6 in the only NFL game this year that didn’t have a touchdown.
Rams kicker Joshua Karty nailed four field goals to carry LA to its third straight win.
They now own an 8-6 record, just half a game behind Seattle for first place in the division.
The loss marked a massive setback for the 49ers, who have dropped four of their last five and now sit 2.5 games back from the division lead with just three games to go.
The Kraken’s offense returned last night in a 5-1 win over the Boston Bruins.
Oliver Bjorkstrand scored twice and Philipp Grubauer made 33 saves to snap Seattle’s three game losing streak at home.
The Kraken held a 2-0 lead after the first period and the Bruins closed the gap to one with a goal in the second.
But Seattle cracked it open with three unanswered goals in the third to secure the dominant win.
It brought the Kraken to 32 points on the season, taking them within two points of 8th place in the Western Conference.
Next up, they’ll host the Tampa Bay Lightning tomorrow night.
Coverage begins at 6:30 and puck drops at 7 on KPUG.
The Mariners’ division rival just traded one of their best hitters.
The Houston Astros sent All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs this morning in exchange for third baseman Isaac Paredes, pitcher Hayden Wesneski and prospect Cam Smith.
The 27-year-old Tucker has been named an All-Star in each of the past three seasons, finishing 5th in the AL MVP voting in 2023.
His 2024 campaign was shortened by a shin injury.
But despite playing just 78 games, he still hit .289 with 23 home runs and 49 RBI.
Tucker is starting the final year of his contract and will enter free agency after next season.
A former Huskies quarterback is making his first NFL start this weekend.
The New Orleans Saints announced that they’re starting Jake Haener against the Commanders on Sunday.
It comes after starter Derek Carr suffered a concussion and a hand injury in their win over the Giants last week.
Haener played four games with the Huskies in 2018 before transferring to Fresno State.
He was taken by the Saints in the 4th round of the 2023 NFL draft.
