The Kraken are back tonight for the third of their four-game East Coast road trip.

Seattle will look to win its third straight in a match against the New Jersey Devils.

It comes after Vince Dunn led the Kraken to a commanding 5-2 win over the Islanders last night.

Dunn had a goal and two assists and Joey Daccord stopped 27 shots to help Seattle start out its road trip 2-0.

They’ll try to carry that momentum over tonight against a strong Devils team that’s tied for the most points in the Eastern Conference.

The Seahawks have a chance to extend their lead in the NFC West this weekend.

They’re traveling to Arizona to face the Cardinals in a game with major playoff implications.

Seattle is riding a three game win streak that includes a 16-6 home win over the Cardinals two weeks ago.

Leonard Williams has led the charge after earning NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Arizona, meanwhile, has lost its last two games after winning four straight entering its previous match with Seattle.

If the Seahawks win and the Rams lose to the Bills, Seattle will push its division lead to two games with just four left to play in the season.

It comes as the Detroit Lions became the first team in the NFC to clinch a playoff spot last night.

They beat the Green Bay Packers 34-31 in a Thursday night thriller to set a franchise record with their 11th straight win.

Seattle will be playing the Packers on Sunday Night Football after their meeting with the Cardinals.

 

It’s conference championship weekend in college football.

Boise State and UNLV kick things off tonight in the Mountain West Championship.

#5 Georgia vs. #2 Texas in the SEC Championship and #1 Oregon vs. #3 Penn State in the Big Ten Championship highlight tomorrow’s games, which will give the winners an automatic berth in the new 12-team College Football Playoff.

The rest of the playoff field will be announced on Sunday, along with the potential bowl game matchups for Washington and Washington State.

 

Speaking of championship football, one local team is looking to cement its place in Washington high school football history.

The Anacortes Seahawks are playing Tumwater tomorrow in the Class 2A championship game.

It’s a rematch of last year’s title match, where the Hawks beat the Thunderbirds 60-30 in a fast-paced shootout.

Anacortes will look to go back-to-back after winning its first state title in program history last year.

But it will be a massive challenge against an undefeated Tumwater team that has beat its opponents by nearly 50 points per game.

Kickoff is at 3 p.m. tomorrow from Husky Stadium.

First up, the Washington Huskies men are hosting USC tomorrow in their first home game in Big Ten Conference play.

After that, #7 Gonzaga is hosting #4 Kentucky in a matchup of top ten teams in the nation.

On Sunday, the Huskies women are in for their toughest test of the season as they host #1 UCLA in their Big Ten Conference opener.

 

Here in Bellingham, the Western Washington University women are hosting rival Seattle Pacific at 7:00 tomorrow night.

The Lady Viks are coming off a tight 64-58 loss last night to #3 Montana State Billings that snapped their three-game win streak.

Meanwhile, the men are traveling to Ellensburg tomorrow to face Central Washington.

They dropped their GNAC opener last night in a narrow 75-74 loss to Northwest Nazarene.

The Sehome girls edged Squalicum 44-39.

The Squalicum boys blew past Sultan 70-36.

The Ferndale boys fell to Edmonds-Woodway 53-38.

And the Meridian boys blew out Mount Vernon Christian 70-34.
