High school basketball district tournament play continued last night.
In the boys’ 2A bracket, Squalicum couldn’t complete a fourth quarter rally and fell to Anacortes 61-56.
Lynden continued their undefeated season with a 67-25 win over Sehome.
The Storm and Mariners now fall to the consolation bracket, where they’ll play in a loser-out game at Squalicum High School tomorrow night.
Lynden and Anacortes will meet in the district semifinals at Mount Vernon High School tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Bellingham fell to Burlington-Edison 76-53.
The Bayhawks now find themselves in a loser-out match at home against Archbishop Murphy tomorrow night.
Over in the 3A bracket, the Ferndale boys topped Meadowdale 59-44.
The Golden Eagles now advance to the district quarterfinals, where they’ll face top-seeded Edmonds-Woodway on the road tomorrow night.

The Western Washington University men kept up their hot play last night.
Sophomore Tijan Saine scored a career-high 37 points to lead the Viks over Western Oregon 87-78.
The Vikings trailed by nine points at the half, but outscored Western Oregon by nearly 20 points in the second half to earn their eighth win in their last nine games.
They’ll look to carry the momentum over tomorrow night when they travel to play Saint Martin’s.
Meanwhile, the Western Women fell to #20 nationally-ranked Alaska Anchorage 72-40.
The Vikings turned the ball over 20 times in their loss to the top team in the GNAC.
They’ll look to bounce back against Alaska Fairbanks tomorrow for Mark Scholten Night at Carver Gym.
Doors open at 6:00 and the team will honor Mark on the court prior to the 7:00 tipoff.
Ichiro Suzuki is planning to do more than just be inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer.
He’s also planning to donate his entire personal collection to the museum in Cooperstown.
The former president of the museum shared the news while sharing a previous discussion he had with Ichiro on a recent “Refuse to Lose” podcast.
Ichiro says he wanted to follow in the footsteps of Hank Aaron and Tom Seaver, who also pledged their entire collections to Cooperstown.
A pair of bills aimed at protecting youth refs are making their way through the State Legislature.
The bills aim to improve school safety by establishing penalties for people who harass or assault referees at school events or during extracurriculars.
It comes after a parent was caught on camera pushing two teenage referees to the ground during a youth hockey game in Seattle earlier this week.
The man has since been banned from all USA Hockey-sanctioned activity in the area.
