The Seattle Kraken are hosting the league-best Vancouver Canucks tonight on KGMI.

The struggling Kraken have lost four of their last six but are playing a Canucks team that’s riding a three-game losing streak.

That hasn’t prevented them from maintaining the NHL’s best record at 37-15-6 though as they lead the Kraken’s Pacific Division.

Jared McCann is coming off a 2-goal game in Seattle’s loss to Detroit earlier this week.

Kraken defenseman Brian Dumoulin is playing his 600th career NHL game tonight.

Lionel Messi and Inter Miami beat Real Salt Lake yesterday in the MLS season opener.

The Sounders will start their season Saturday by hosting Los Angeles FC, who booted them out of the playoffs last year in the Western Conference semifinals.

 

Detroit Pistons center, and former University of Washington star, Isaiah Stewart is being suspended for three games by the NBA for punching Phoenix Suns center Drew Eubanks last week.

Stewart was arrested by Phoenix police following the incident in the Suns’ arena hours before the game, but had his assault charge dismissed.

Stewart was not going to play in the game anyway, he’s missed the past eight due to an ankle sprain.

The University of Washington men are playing at Arizona State.

Huskies are coming off a tight 2-point loss to California.

It’s a prime chance to get back on track though, as the struggling Sun Devils have lost 6 of their last 8, including a 45-point loss to their rival Arizona Wildcats last Saturday.

Here in Bellingham, the Western Washington University men are hosting Northwest Nazarene.

The Vikings are hoping to snap their three-game losing streak.

They lost to Nazarene in a tight 75-72 game earlier this season.

The race for spots in the upcoming GNAC tournament is coming down to the wire, and this is a major game for the Vikings to maintain their positioning.

They’re currently one game behind the final spot.

Tonight’s game tips off at 7:00 at Carver Gym.

 

Meanwhile, the Western women have their biggest regular season game of the year tonight.

They’re facing Montana State-Billings, who own the best record in the GNAC.

The Vikings beat the Yellowjackets at home earlier this season in a commanding 76-68 win, but the 11th nationally ranked Yellowjackets are still ranked two spots above No. 13 Vikings.

MSU-Billings has won five straight since that game, but the Vikings have won 11 of their last 12.
