The Mariners fell to the Athletics 8-5 in Cactus League play this afternoon.

Veteran first baseman Rowdy Tellez hit a home run for Seattle, but the A’s offense proved to be too much in the loss.

The Mariners trailed 8-1 entering the final inning and rallied to score four runs, coming up just short.

They now fall to 3-3 in spring training ahead of tomorrow’s match against the Texas Rangers.

The Kraken were singing the blue in St. Louis last night.

Zack Bolduc scored twice and the St. Louis Blues beat the Seattle Kraken 7-2. 

Seattle went scoreless for nearly the whole game until Vince Dunn and Jaden Schwartz scored a pair of late goals.

They’ve now lost 7 of their last 10 matches, but they’re coming back home.

The Kraken will host the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday in the first of their brief two-game stint at Climate Pledge.

 

The Huskies’ Big Ten woes continued last night.

The UW men fell to Wisconsin 88-62.

Sophomore John Blackwell scored 24 points to lead the 11th nationally ranked Badgers to the sixth win in their last seven games.

Great Osobor led the Huskies with 11 points as the team solidified their spot at the bottom of the conference standings.

Meanwhile, the Gonzaga men handled Santa Clara 95-76 last night.

The Zags are making a late-season push to return to the AP Top 25, after garnering the 41st-most votes in the latest rankings.

 

Coming up tonight, Devin Coppinger and the UW women will try to get their third straight win when they face Minnesota on the road.

It’s the second-to-last game of the regular season for the Huskies, who currently sit at 13th out of 18 teams in the Big Ten.

 

Seahawks fans may be seeing double on the sidelines against a division rival this season.

The San Francisco 49ers announced yesterday that Klay Kubiak is being promoted to offensive coordinator.

It comes after his brother, Klint, was hired as the Seahawks’ new offensive coordinator last month.

The two are sons to legendary NFL coach Gary Kubiak.

Their first meeting will be announced when the league releases schedules for the 2025 season in May.

 

NFL team report cards are out and the Seahawks seem to have gotten a passing grade.

The NFL Player’s Association released its surveys of nearly 1,700 players that graded their teams across 11 different categories.

Overall, Seattle scored 15th out of 32 teams, receiving A’s and B’s in most categories.

New head coach Mike Macdonald garnered rave reviews, with 100% of players agreeing that he uses their time efficiently.

The two worst grades went to the team’s ownership, which received a C+, and its training room, which got a C.

Meanwhile, their division rival Arizona Cardinals finished as the lowest-graded team in the league.
