Cooper Kupp posted a statement to social media yesterday saying he’s been informed that the Los Angeles Rams are looking to trade him “immediately.”
Kupp says he expected to begin and end his career with the Rams and that the decision is coming against his wishes.
The former Eastern Washington University standout and Yakima native is owed $5 million next season, and has no guaranteed money on the final year of his contract in 2026.
If the Rams trade him after June 1, they’ll save $20 million toward their 2025 salary cap.
Kupp has spent all eight seasons of his career with LA, including a breakout 2021 campaign that saw him notch the Triple Crown, leading the league in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

An MLB umpire has been fired for sharing his gambling accounts with a friend.
MLB opened the investigation into Pat Hoberg last February when it was brought to its attention by the sportsbook and Hoberg did not umpire last season.
He’s alleged to have shared his legal sports gambling accounts with a friend who bet on baseball games and intentionally deleted electronic messages that were key to the league’s investigation.
While MLB said the investigation did not uncover evidence Hoberg personally bet on baseball or manipulated games, the league’s senior vice president of on-field operations recommended that Hoberg be fired.
Among the highest-rated umpires at judging the strike zone, Hoberg can apply for reinstatement no earlier than 2026 spring training.
