Seattle’s Lumen Field will host six World Cup matches in 2026.
The events will include four group-stage matches, with one game played by the U.S. on June 19.
There will also be a pair of knockout-round matches in soccer’s version of the Sweet 16 in July.
Lumen’s 69,000-seat venue is one of 11 stadiums hosting games in the U.S.
Its turf will be replaced with natural grass for the tournament in early 2026.
The Seattle Storm continued their busy offseason yesterday.
They signed former WNBA MVP Nneka Ogwumike to a one-year deal.
The former Los Angeles Sparks star averaged 19 points and nearly 9 rebounds per game last season.
It follows last week’s signing of 6x All-Star Skylar Diggins-Smith.

The Meridian girls beat Mount Baker 38-25 to advance in the 1A district tournament where they’ll face top-seeded Nooksack Valley tomorrow night.
The Squalicum boys lost a tight one to Archbishop Murphy 55-52.
And the Bellingham girls play at Lakewood tonight for a chance to advance in the 2A district bracket.
