The Seahawks are addressing their most glaring need after parting ways with two of their top receivers.
ESPN reports that the team has agreed to a one-year deal with veteran Marques Valdez-Scantling that’s worth up to $5.5 million.
The eighth-year wide receiver is coming off a season where he averaged a career-high 22.6 yards per catch with New Orleans, working under new Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
Valdes-Scantling signed with the Saints to become their primary deep-threat receiver after being released by the Bills midseason.
The move comes after the Seahawks agreed to trade DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers and released Tyler Lockett.
Seattle also made a trade to bolster their defensive line.
The Seahawks signed 4x Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence to a 3-year deal worth up to $42 million today.
Lawrence will reunite with Aden Durde, who was his defensive line coach in Dallas before Seattle hired him as their defensive coordinator last offseason
The 32-year-old veteran played in just four games in 2024 because of a right mid-foot sprain.
Meanwhile, a Seahawks’ cornerback is moving to a rival team in the division.
Tre Brown’s agent confirmed today that he’s signing a deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
The terms of the contract have yet to be reported.
The 27-year-old Brown played 13 games and made three starts for Seattle last season, registering 26 tackles and one pass defended.
He began the season as their third cornerback, but lost the role after dealing with a midseason ankle injury.

The Lummi boys took home the 1B title in Spokane over the weekend, winning out over top-seeded Almira Coulee-Hartline 53-50.
The community will celebrate the boys’ win and the girls’ team making it to state with a parade starting along Kwina Road at 11:30 am.
It marks the first state championship win for the Blackhawk boys in a decade, and the second in the school’s history.
