The Seahawks announced today they’re releasing safeties Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs and tight end Will Dissly.

Seattle traded two first-round picks to acquire Adams from the New York Jets in 2020.

He made a Pro Bowl and recorded 9.5 sacks in his first season with the Seahawks, but hasn’t gotten a single sack since.

Diggs made three Pro Bowls and caught 18 interceptions in his five seasons in Seattle.

The cuts are estimated to save about $25 million in cap space, though the Seahawks will take on nearly $20 million in dead money by releasing Adams.

The Russell Wilson era in Denver is over.

The Broncos told the former Seattle star quarterback yesterday that they plan to release him after the start of the league year on March 13.

Denver traded five draft picks and three players to the Seahawks for Wilson in 2022.

They followed the move by signing him to a five-year, $243 million deal.

Denver went on to go 11-19 with Wilson starting and scored just under 19 points per game.

The decision to release Wilson will cost the Broncos $85 million in dead money over the next two seasons.

That’s the largest dead cap hit in NFL history.
