The Seattle Mariners got their second straight win in Cactus League play today.

They shutout the Los Angeles Angels 5-0 in a game where the M’s allowed just four hits.

Bryan Woo got the start and threw over two innings of shutout ball with three strikeouts.

The win was highlighted by a 4-run eighth inning, capped off by a 2-run single by Leonardo Rivas.

Seattle improves to 3-9 in spring training ahead of tomorrow’s game against the Chicago Cubs.

Coverage begins at 11:55 a.m. and first pitch is at 12:05 on KPUG.

We’re in for a big college basketball rivalry matchup tonight.

The Washington State Cougars are hosting the Washington Huskies in the last regular season game for both teams.

The 18th-ranked Cougars are in second place in the Pac-12 standings, just half a game behind Arizona who they’ve beat twice this year.

It’s a massive game for the Cougs, as they’ll have a chance to win the Pac-12 conference for the first time in 83 years.

The Huskies are currently sitting at ninth in the conference.

Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. and tipoff is at 6:00 on KPUG.

Meanwhile, both schools’ women’s teams had their seasons likely ended yesterday.

The University of Washington women lost to Arizona 58-50 to get bounced in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament.

The Huskies finish the season with a 16-12 record and 6-12 in the Pac-12.

The team had a hot 11-0 start to the season and cracked the AP Top 25 before losing 12 of their next 14 games.

The Washington State women were also eliminated from the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament.

They fell to California for the third time this season in a 65-44 loss.

The defending tournament champion Cougs were dealt a major blow when they lost last year’s tournament MVP Charlisse Leger-Walker for the season with a knee injury.

Washington State was 15-6 before her injury and had just completed a major upset over 2nd-nationally ranked UCLA.

But the Cougs stumbled to a 3-8 finish to the season after Leger-Walker was ruled out.

And the Western Washington University women begin their postseason journey this week.

The 2nd-seeded Vikings are facing 3rd-seeded Alaska Anchorage in the GNAC Championships semifinals at noon tomorrow in Ellensburg.

On the other side of the bracket is their rival Montana State Billings, who own the top seed in the conference tournament.

If the Vikings win tomorrow, they’ll play for the GNAC title and an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament on Saturday.
