The Mariners’ bats showed up in a big way this afternoon to avoid a series sweep in Toronto.

The M’s used a five-run 10th inning to beat the Blue Jays 6-1 in extras.

Cal Raleigh started the rally with a 2-run homer.

Ty France followed with an RBI double and Mitch Hanniger drove in two runs with a single to cap off the winning effort for Seattle.

France extended his hit streak to eight straight games with the double.

Logan Gilbert allowed just one run over 7 ⅔ innings in the start.

Andres Munoz and Ryne Stanek combined to only allow one hit over the rest of the game.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a solo homer for the Blue Jays’ only run of the day.

The Mariners have the day off tomorrow before returning home for this weekend’s series against the Cubs.

 

The Kraken beat the Arizona Coyotes 5-0 last night on KGMI.

It was the third-largest margin of victory all season and the first time Seattle cracked five goals since February 22.

20-year-old Shane Wright scored just over a minute into the game for his fourth goal in four games.

Philipp Grubauer made 39 saves for his second shutout of the season.

A University of Washington football player faces charges that he raped two women in Seattle. 

KING-TV reports Seattle police officers arrested 18-year-old Tylin “Tybo” Rogers on Friday and booked him into King County Jail. 

He was charged yesterday with second-degree rape and third-degree rape. 

Rogers rushed 44 times for 184 yards as a freshman last year at UW.

The University of Washington athletic department said in a statement that he’s has been suspended from all team activities until further notice.

 

And the Seahawks have announced jersey numbers for their 12 free agent signings.

New linebacker Tyrell Dodson will be the second Seahawk ever to don the number 0.

Former UW Huskies center Nick Harris will wear the same No. 56 that he had in college.

And backup quarterback Sam Howell will wear No. 6.
