The Mariners’ bats showed up in a much-needed win last night.
Jorge Polanco and Mitch Haniger each hit home runs and the M’s tallied a season-high run total in a 9-3 win against the Cincinnati Reds.
George Kirby gave up two runs and struck out six to improve to 2-2.
After this morning’s loss by the Rangers, the Mariners sit a game and a half back from first place in the AL West.
The M’s are back tonight with Logan Gilbert on the mound in the middle game of their series with the Reds.

Mariners manager Scott Servais says there’s no timeline yet for starting outfielder Dominic Canzone’s return to the team.
Canzone injured his shoulder when he crashed into the left field wall during a game on Sunday.
Servais says Canzone will be out at least a couple of weeks, per Seattle Sports’ Shannon Drayer.
21-year-old Jonatan Clase will take his place in the meantime after being called up from Triple A-Tacoma.
Clase went 1-4 with an RBI in yesterday’s win over the Reds.
The Kraken are in Winnipeg tonight, facing the red-hots Jets in the second-to-last game of their season.
Winnipeg rebounded from a six-game losing streak earlier this month to win their last six games.
They currently own the third best record in the Western Conference.
Meanwhile, the Kraken are looking to avoid their fourth straight loss.
They’ll need their scorers to show up tonight in a game against the NHL’s stingiest defense.

And Western Washington University is honoring its women’s athletes tonight.
The school is hosting a special Women’s History Month forum on campus at 6:30 p.m.
The event is titled “Women’s Sports Through Title IX: Where Did We Start, Where We Are Now and Where Are We Going.”
It will include a panel featuring three members of Western’s Athletics Hall of Fame.
The forum will be held in Arntzen 100 on Western’s campus with free parking available in the C Lots.
