Three Huskies went in the first round last night, with Michael Penix Jr. and Rome Odunze going back-to-back with the eighth and ninth overall picks, respectively.
Penix will join an Atlanta Falcons team that already signed veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins to a four-year, $180 million contract earlier this offseason.
The pick surprised everyone from fans, to media members, to even Cousins himself.
Rome Odunze joins the Chicago Bears as the newest target for No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.
Offensive lineman Troy Fautanu went 20th overall to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks took Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy II at pick 16.
The 6-foot-1, 297 pound prospect was just the second defensive player to go off the board.
14 straight offensive players went to kick off the night to set an all-time draft record.
The Seahawks will look to bolster a defense that ranked 24th in the NFL last season.
Murphy was a second-team AP All-American and the Big 12 Conference defensive lineman of the year last season for the Longhorns.
The Seahawks’ next pick is in round three with the 81st overall selection.
