The Mariners’ bats stayed cold last night in Toronto.

J.P. Crawford and Cal Raleigh each hit solo home runs, but the M’s couldn’t muster up any more offense in their 5-2 loss to the Blue Jays.

Luis Castillo gave up four runs through five innings in the loss to drop to 0-3 on the season.

Jose Berrios tossed 6 2/3 shutout innings to earn his second win of the year.

Toronto scored the first four runs of the game before Crawford and Raleigh homered in the last two innings to get Seattle on the scoreboard.

Ty France went 3-4 from the plate to extend his hit streak to seven games in his first day back from paternity leave.

George Kirby is on the mound today in the middle of their three-game series.

Coverage starts at 3:00 and first pitch is at 4:07 on KPUG.

Meanwhile, the Mariners made a flurry of roster changes ahead of their series with Toronto.

The M’s placed relief pitchers Colin Snider and Cody Bolton on the 15-day injured list.

They also called up pitchers Tyson Miller and Brett de Geus from Triple-A Tacoma to bolster their diminished bullpen.

The Kraken are back in action tonight.

They’re hosting the Arizona Coyotes in their second-to-last home game of the season.

The Coyotes are eyeing a season-sweep after winning each of their first two games against the Kraken, with both matches either going to overtime or a shootout.

Seattle will look to get the fifth win in their last eight games.

Coverage begins at 6:30 and puck drops at 7:00 on KGMI.

Western Washington University starting pitcher Joie Baker was selected as the most recent GNAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Baker went 2-0 during the Vikings’ four-game series sweep over Simon Frasier last weekend.

The junior didn’t allow an earned run over 13 innings, including a two-hit shutout performance on Saturday.

The Vikings will look to get a program-record 14th straight win on Friday against Montana State Billings.

And it’s back-to-back national championships for the UConn Huskies.

UConn delivered the latest of its beatdowns last night, smothering Purdue for a 75-60 victory to become the first team since 2007 to capture back-to-back titles.

Tristen Newton scored 20 points for the Huskies, who won their 12th straight March Madness game, not a single one of them decided by fewer than 13 points.

Meanwhile, National Player of the Year Zach Edey scored 37 points for the Boilermakers in the loss.

The Huskies limited the country’s second-best 3-point shooting team to a mere seven shots behind the arc, and Purdue only made one.
